Questions

Is the cropped part gone for good?

No. Cropping hides what is outside the edges, but it is still inside the file. To remove names or numbers for good, use Black Out, which comes with a plan.

Will cropping make the file smaller?

Usually not by much, because the hidden part is still there. Use Make a PDF smaller for that.

Are my files safe?

Files travel encrypted. With the free tools, each file is deleted from our server when you close it. With a plan you choose: delete each file when you close it, or keep your files for 30 days so Open Recent works, and delete everything at any time. The desktop app keeps your files on your own computer.
