Questions

What is PDF/A?

A stricter kind of PDF made for keeping records. The fonts are stored inside the file and nothing depends on outside links, so it opens the same way years from now.

Can a PDF with a password be PDF/A?

PDF/A doesn't allow passwords, so the PDF/A copy comes out without one. Your original file keeps its password.

Why would my PDF be turned down?

PDF/A needs every font stored inside the file. If some aren't, for example on many government forms, we tell you plainly instead of making a file that would be rejected later. Scans and PDFs saved from Word as PDF/A convert fine.

Are my files safe?

Files travel encrypted. With the free tools, each file is deleted from our server when you close it. With a plan you choose: delete each file when you close it, or keep your files for 30 days so Open Recent works, and delete everything at any time. The desktop app keeps your files on your own computer.
