Questions

Does it keep bold, tables and pictures?

No. A text file holds words only: no fonts, no pictures, no table lines. For a file you can still format, use PDF to Word.

Why is my text file empty?

The PDF is probably a scan, which is a picture of words rather than words. Use Make a scan searchable first, then convert it to text.

Are my files safe?

Files travel encrypted. With the free tools, each file is deleted from our server when you close it. With a plan you choose: delete each file when you close it, or keep your files for 30 days so Open Recent works, and delete everything at any time. The desktop app keeps your files on your own computer.
